This is an example explaining how to set up a Progress Point - see a general overview of the functionality here.
You must be a Super user with Manage Templates access to set up Progress Points.
Setting up an Hours Progress Point
In this example, you'll set up a Progress Point that will allow Site Assistant to tell you about time logged by people in your Organization (for example, in Timesheets).
Find Progress Points in the Admin menu.
From the Progress Points screen, hit the green Create button to get started.
First, you'll need to choose a name for your Progress Point. You'll use this name when you ask Site Assistant questions, so simple and intuitive is best. We're calling this one "Hours".
The type of metric is Time (labour) and we're counting it in Hours, so choose each of these.
You'll need to let the Progress Point know where to get its data from using Sources. In this case, hours come from our Weekly Timesheet template, so we click Add Source and choose this template.
Then, we need to say which field the hours are recorded in. Our "ordinary hours" field is in a table, so we choose this table, and then choose the field below (in Value).
We specify that we want to query hours based on the week commencing date (this way we know what week the hours were booked for, even if the timesheet was lodged late).
Similarly I'll add another Source - this time selecting the "Overtime Hours" field in Value. This way, both ordinary and overtime hours will be tallied up when I ask Site Assistant about the hours logged on a project.
We can use the same Progress Point to query different attributes, or breakdowns, of the hours. For example, "hours for Jon Smith".
To set this up, we add some more attributes - click Manage Attributes, then Add Attribute.
I'll call the attribute "Employee". Then, for each Source, I'll specify where the attribute can be found. For my Ordinary Hours, the relevant person is found in the Employee field, so I choose that field.
I do the same thing for my other source of hours (the Overtime field in the same template)
You also have the choice of showing the summary graphic as a cumulative chart, or a non-cumulative chart. Choose whichever makes sense to you - in this case, I'm happy with a normal line chart, as I don't want to add up hours over time, I'm more interested in comparing week by week.
Click OK to save the Progress Point when you're done, making sure to Activate it (in the General section at the top) if you're ready to use it.
Now, we can ask Site Assistant about the hours logged against any project that uses the Weekly Timesheet (which we chose as a Source - if you have multiple timesheets in the organization, you could add more Sources).
Just adding one Source and one Attribute in this example enables me to ask questions about hours for any of my projects, for any time period and any employee - all without exports or spreadsheets.
And since Site Assistant is available on our mobile apps now, you get all of this information in the field!
