You can now link BIM 360 and APE Mobile - to keep your Projects, Users and records in sync. Check out this article to see the steps to set this up.

Once you've connected BIM 360 and APE Mobile, you can:

  • Create projects in APE Mobile based on BIM 360 projects
  • Link existing APE Mobile projects to BIM 360

In both cases, the project details will stay in sync with any changes made in BIM 360.

Create Projects from BIM 360

When you go to the Projects screen, you'll now have the option to create from BIM 360, using the BIM 360 button. You'll be asked to log in to BIM 360 if you aren't already logged in.

Select your project and confirm the project details by clicking Save.

Some details are not editable in APE Mobile - if a project was created from BIM 360 these details must be managed in BIM 360. Any changes will be synced back in APE Mobile (it may take up to ten minutes for the changes to appear).

Project Members currently need to be added manually once the project has been created.

Link Projects to BIM 360

You can also link your existing APE Mobile projects to BIM 360. To do this go to Admin > Projects.  In the Actions menu for each project, you will find an option to Link to BIM 360.

If you select this option then APE Mobile will try to match the project with a BIM 360 project that has the same Name. If there isn't a match, you may need to edit this in either APE Mobile or BIM 360.

If there is a match, click Link again to confirm - the projects are now linked!

This means that your Project Details in APE Mobile will now be synced from BIM 360, and PDF copies of all of your APE Mobile forms, memos and actions will be kept in BIM 360 (see below).

Project Forms

Once you start creating Forms in APE Mobile, a PDF copy of those records will be kept in your linked BIM 360 project automatically.

You'll find these in your Project Files in a folder called "APE Mobile (company)".

That way if you predominantly use BIM 360, you'll always have easy access to a copy of the forms that are being completed on site in APE Mobile.
